GAZA
Israeli airstrikes, drone attacks, artillery and targeted gunfire on Gaza’s heavily populated areas continue to cause indiscriminate deaths and injuries. Israel attacked UN aid convoys and facilities and once again tightened control at ports of entry to prevent food, medicines, fuel, housing supplies, and all the necessities of life from reaching Palestinians. Funding cuts to UNRWA, World Food Program, and other UN-related agencies threaten the continued existence of Palestinians in Gaza. Regime-shaking elections in the US and Israel, the power centers of Zionism, provide no hope for an end to the genocide.
· 10/27-11/2, 36 Palestinians were killed and 145 injured.
· Palestinian deaths since the “ceasefire” 1 year ago: 1,593 killed, 5,748 wounded.
· Palestinian deaths since 10/7/23: 74,618 killed and 175,920 injured.
· In October, Israel killed 143 Palestinians (23 children, 2 elders) and wounded 674 (190 children). This is the highest monthly number of injuries since the “ceasefire” began on 10/10/2025.

Israeli Attacks
· 10/22, Three-year-old Maryam Ghanem, whose father died before she was born, survived an Israeli strike that killed her mother and left her with severe burns and emotional distress. Neighbors rescued her from the burning home in Gaza City, and she was hospitalized at Al-Shifa Hospital. Haaretz
· 10/25, Two Israeli strikes targeted Islamic University in Gaza City, killing three Palestinians and injuring students, some critically. The university suspended academic and administrative activities following the first attack on its campus. Three other Palestinians were killed in Al-Mawasi and east of Deir al-Balah, according to medical sources cited by Anadolu. Palestine Chronicle
· 10/26 Israeli occupation forces set fire to a displacement camp near the Shujaiya intersection east of Gaza City, destroying tents sheltering more than 800 Palestinians from over 200 families, according to Gaza's Ministry of Public Works and Housing. The ministry said Israeli quadcopter drones ignited the camp at approximately 8 p.m., with flames continuing to consume tents and personal belongings for hours after midnight. SAFA
· 10/28, Israeli airstrikes and drone attacks killed 3 and injured 11.
· 10/29, a drone strike on a vehicle at the entrance to the Maghazi refugee camp killed 2 and wounded several.
· 10/29, Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that Israeli strikes killed 21 people during the week, including six in a 24-hour period. The ministry said the death toll since the 10/2025 “cease-fire” had reached 1,574, with 74,570 killed since the genocide began. Palestinian media reported attacks across Gaza, including on displaced people’s tents in al-Mawasi and an Economy Ministry branch in Rafah. Haaretz
· 10/31 Two Babies Die in Gaza Tent Fire as UN Issues Dire Warning Ahead of Winter. The infants suffered severe burns sustained in a fire at a displacement tent in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Yunis. Nasser Medical Complex identified the children as two-month-old Habiba Mohammed Zanoun and seven-month-old Aseel Abu Suhayban. The fire broke out on 10/29 while food was being cooked inside the tent. Both infants were admitted to intensive care but died the following morning. Shortages of cooking gas and basic supplies under Israel’s blockade have forced displaced families to cook over open flames. Gaza. (Palestine Chronicle 11/2, zeteo)
· 11/1-2, Israeli attacks killed 13 Palestinians and wounded 38 in drone strikes on tents and vehicles.
· 11/1, Israeli drone strikes targeted and killed 5 Palestinian police in the Al-Mawasi area, bringing the number of police killed since the 10/2025 “ceasefire” to 75.
· 11/1, Al Jazeera reported that Israeli strikes and gunfire killed nine Palestinians, including a child, across Gaza on Sunday. Citing hospitals, it reported five deaths near a displacement camp in al-Mawasi, three in Gaza City’s al-Rimal neighborhood and one east of Deir al-Balah. Haaretz
· 11/3, gunshots were fired at a UN facility in Deir al Balah and a UN convoy in Rafah. The same day, gunfire damaged multiple tents in a Rafah displacement site, causing injuries and forcing an international NGO to abandon its flood control work before the winter rainy season.
· 11/5, Israeli forces shot and killed a woman in Al-Mawasi and a child in the Bureij refugee camp. Another Palestinian was killed in an airstrike west of Al-Zawayda.
Aid and cargo entry into Gaza
· 10/26-11/1, 466 UN and partner trucks carrying humanitarian supplies were manifested for entry into Gaza. 397 were offloaded on the Israeli side of Kerem Shalom (195 from Ashdod, 127 from Egypt and 28 from Jordan). This is a 28% decrease in the number of manifested trucks, and a decline in offloaded truckloads of 5%. Partners have been reporting declining humanitarian cargo available to ship due to funding constraints.
· The resumption of commercial truck entry through Kerem Shalom after the mid-October suspension brought basic commodity prices back to previous levels. The private sector brought 498 truckloads into Gaza from 10/26-1/11. Only 6 carried non-essential items.
· 11/1, Israel notified UN agencies that all shipments from Egypt would be suspended due to concerns about “smuggling.” If this persists, prices and access to essential supplies will worsen. In particular, the Food Security Sector warns that the production and distribution of cooked meals could reduce from 600,000 to 330,000 daily, and of bread from 280 to 259 metric tons.
· Amid deepening financial crisis, UNRWA is conducting mass layoffs in Gaza. The UN agency says it is forced to cut services because it cannot cover a $70 million shortfall. But laid-off employees, its staff union, and its former spokesperson say the cuts are aimed at something broader: the refugee question itself. (Mondoweiss 11/4)
Engine oil shortages
· Shortages of engine oil and lubricants, spare parts and maintenance supplies for generators, engines and vehicles threaten service provision. Israel continues to tightly restrict the entry of these and other critical items, including generators. All services depend heavily on regular, predictable fuel supplies. Long-term solutions depend on Israeli permission (also denied) to import solar panels, reconnect the electricity grid and restart the Gaza Power Plant.
Services threatened by shortages include:
-- Water and sanitation: Critical systems for pumping floodwater and sewage during the rainy season are already failing.
-- Health: Life-support systems such as adult and neonatal ventilators would stop working, as would diagnostic and clinical services, cold-chain capacity, and ambulances.
-- Sanitation: Only 50% of waste management vehicles are operational.
Shelter and Site Management
· UNOSAT reports 81% of all structures in Gaza were damaged by June 2026. As Israeli military deployment now covers 70% of Gaza. 2.1 million people are so crowded that many displaced families have moved into structurally compromised, dangerous buildings. Read the 10/2026 report: Overview of dangerous war-damaged buildings in Gaza here:
· As of 11/1, the demand for tents, tarps, emergency shelter kits, and other essential shelter and household items greatly exceeds the supply available as Israel continues to deny entry to these basic survival needs. UNRWA estimates that 94% of the population needs shelter assistance. Combined with limited funding – a funding gap of US$186.5 million against the required total of US$267.9 million -- supplies may not be procured, shipped and distributed until the 2nd half of winter.
· About 70,000 tents sheltering displaced Palestinians have been flooded in the Gaza Strip within 12 hours of the first winter storm of the season. Gaza’s civil defense agency said its crews received about 1,500 distress calls in just 10 hours after the rain began early on Saturday, with water levels in several shelter sites rising by 30-40cm (12-16 inches). Premature babies, the elderly and the sick were most at risk. Aljazeera
Health and Hospitals
· Maternal and newborn health services are severely stressed by the destruction of health care in Gaza. In September, neonatal unit occupancy reached 151% and Special Care Baby Unit occupancy reached 199%. Nearly 63% of deliveries were classified as high risk.
· This article reports on “Bereavement, exhaustion and trauma: How Israel’s genocide is taking a toll on Gaza’s doctors.” Palestine will be free substack
· The Gaza MoH said 42% of essential medicines and 50% of medical supplies are completely out of stock. The depletion of chemotherapy drugs, hormonal treatments, immunosuppressants, and clotting factors disrupted 55% of treatment protocols for thousands of patients, exposing them to life-threatening complications. Israeli restrictions obstruct treatment outside Gaza.
· 107 patients (38 children) were medially evacuated along with 119 companions through the Rafah and Kerem Shalom crossings.
· Gaza recorded 260 congenital anomaly cases in the first nine months of 2026, exceeding the 184 documented throughout 2022. Health Ministry called for an independent investigation into possible contributing factors, including maternal malnutrition, pollutants and disrupted prenatal care. Newborns need diagnostic testing, surgery and continuing care as Gaza’s severely damaged health system struggles with Israeli restrictions on medical supplies. Palestine Chronicle
· Gaza Health Ministry reiterated its call for the opening of the Rafah crossing to allow for patients requiring medical treatment to leave and to increase the number of people allowed to travel on medical evacuations. Sudden closures of the crossings, and the deliberate slowness in the procedures, have turned medical transfers from a humanitarian rescue to a fatal obstacle. (Drop Site 10/29)
Food and Nutrition
· As of 11/2, 21 subsidized bakeries produced 80,000 2-kilo bread bundles daily (280 metric tons), while fuel-only subsidies to 17 commercial bakeries produced 90 tons of bread daily. As of 10/31, 90 community kitchens produced 592,000 meals daily and delivered them to 1,347 locations. Food Security partners warn that meal production and distribution would probably be cut in half if the Israeli prohibition of supplies from Egypt continues. Food parcels and flour were distributed through 28 points to 432,000 people, covering about half of minimum caloric requirements. Animal feed reached 2,250 herders and 1,370 owners of working animals.
· In Gaza, the specter of famine is returning. Cuts to the World Food Programme have compounded Israel's aid restrictions, driving up food prices and forcing thousands of families to go hungry. +972
· "This is Catastrophic": Gaza Hit Hard by UN Food Cuts and Lack of Humanitarian Aid. As winter approaches, Palestinians in Gaza are desperately trying to prepare their tents and damaged homes while food cuts by the World Food Programme are exacerbating rising levels of hunger. (Drop Site)
WEST BANK, including EAST JERUSALEM
The situation in the West Bank continues to worsen as Israeli military and settlers attack Palestinians, damage or demolish homes, productive assets, and the olive harvest, and restrict access to land, transportation, and essential services.
· 10/27-11/2, 58 Palestinians (2 children) were injured, 43 by settlers and 15 by Israeli forces. 2 Israeli solidarity activists were also injured. 84% of the injuries were caused by settlers in 64 attacks, 44 linked to the olive harvest. Since the olive harvest began in September, 377 settler attacks were recorded (physical assaults, theft of olives and equipment), already far exceeding the total of previous harvest seasons.
· October, Israeli forces and settlers carried out 3,133 attacks against Palestinians, their land, and property across the West Bank, a 52.8% increase from September. Attacks damaged 5,890 trees, including 4,498 olive trees. There were 165 cases of olive theft and settlers stole 384 sheep, agricultural equipment and vehicles.
· Palestinians began returning to their homes following a 10-day military operation that displaced approximately 5,000 Palestinians from 2 Hebron neighborhoods. Schooling continues to be disrupted for some 4,450 students.
· 10/29, 7 families (33 people) were displaced from Khirbet Suruj (near Al Yamun, Jenin) after Israeli authorities claimed the area as state land and ordered them to leave, threatening to demolish their structures.

Health & Hospitals
· The division of the West Bank creates significant barriers to health access. Patients and companions require permits to reach major health facilities in East Jerusalem as well as referral care to Israeli hospitals that offer specialized care. About ¼ of all Palestinian applications to access patient care are denied. See the info graphic here: WHO
Children
· 10/14, UN Commission of Inquiry concluded Israel has committed the crime against humanity of persecution against Palestinian children. Their findings recognize that children in the West Bank have been deliberately targeted due to their age in attacks causing serious bodily and mental harm. After making the same determination about Gaza in June, the commission expanded its finding to the West Bank, explaining: “the harm inflicted on children is not incidental or collateral to the broader violence affecting civilian population, but forms part of a pattern of intentional violence.” OHCHR
Israeli attacks
· Since 10/7/23, Israel has intensified its military operations in the West Bank, expanded settlements and outposts, imposed sweeping restrictions on Palestinian movement, tightened its control over vast areas, and reshaped the territory’s legal status. For many Palestinians in the West Bank, the changes have fundamentally altered their relationship with their land, their livelihoods, and their sense of security. In a new report for +972 Magazine, Shasa Yaish, Basel Adra, and Oren Ziv try to capture the enormity of this transformation.
· 10/29, Israeli military beat US journalist Jasper Nathaniel and 2 Russian activists in Masafer Yatta. They were arrested and denied hospital treatment.
· 11/2, 11-day campaign in Hebron ended. It displaced nearly 5,000 Palestinians, demolished 15 buildings, including homes, and disrupted schooling for some 80,000 students. Direct economic losses exceeded $3.8 million daily; infrastructure damage was $1.9 million. (OCHAOPT, Drop Site)
· 11/2, Israeli forces fired tear gas at Al-Mughayyir Secondary School, near Ramallah, causing students to suffer from tear gas inhalation. They arrested a teacher and closed the school’s entrance.
Demolitions and Displacement
· 10/26 BANK Israeli forces began bulldozing Palestinian land for an approximately 11.5-kilometer settlement road linking settlements near Arraba to others south of Jenin. Israeli forces also began demolishing agricultural and commercial structures near Haddad Tourist Village, including greenhouses, agricultural rooms, a car showroom, and a recreational park. (Drop Site 10/26)
· 10/27-11/2, Israeli authorities demolished or forced Palestinians to demolish 31 structures, displacing 71 people (38 children), and affecting 72 people. 24 structures were demolished for lack of Israeli-issued building permits and 7 on punitive grounds.
· In October, Israeli demolished 129 Palestinian structures, including 62 inhabited homes. At least 220 Palestinians (125 children) were directly affected.
· 11/3, Israeli authorities issued an order declaring 627 acres (2,536 dunams) of Palestinian land in Beitillu, Al-Mazra’a Al-Qibliya, and Deir Ammar, northwest of Ramallah in the West Bank, as “state property.” The land surrounds the Israeli settlement of Kerem Reim, and the declaration facilitates the settlement’s expansion.
· 11/4, 30 settlers, some armed, took over 8 homes in Ein Al-Duyuk Al-Tahta on the outskirts of Jericho. The operation was organized by the Nachala settlement movement, which claims to have secretly purchased the properties. After being attacked with stones, 65 Palestinians fled and Israeli forces blocked their return. The new outpost is in Area C, under full Israeli control under the Oslo Accords, just meters from parts of Jericho classified as Area A, where the Palestinian Authority is supposed to exercise civilian and security control. Yisrael Gantz, head of the West Bank settler council, declared: “Today we begin reversing the trend, dismantling the Oslo Accords through actions, house by house, family by family.” Palestinian National Council Speaker Rawhi Fattouh condemned the takeover as “organized terrorism” carried out under Israeli government protection.
Settler and Military Attacks and the Olive Harvest
· Palestinian news agencies and local sources reported that settlers attacked olive harvesters and accompanying activists across the West Bank, injuring at least three people. Reported incidents included beatings, gunfire, theft, arson and damage to vehicles and agricultural equipment, with some attacks occurring in Israeli soldiers’ presence. Soldiers also reportedly expelled harvesters from their land, fired tear gas toward homes and detained five Palestinians and a foreign activist. Haaretz
· Israeli settlers damaged Palestinian homes in several Hebron communities, particularly in Masafer Yatta. In Khirbet al Majaz, Mughayir al Abeed, and Halaweh, settlers assaulted residents and damaged homes and belongings. In Nablus, settlers stopped road repairs, after which Israeli forces detained and assaulted 2 municipal workers, halting the repair completion.
· In Hebron and Bethlehem governorates, Israeli authorities suspended previously scheduled access to olive trees near settlements. Even where access was coordinated or permitted, farmers continued to face restrictions and settler attacks. In Beit Iksa (Jerusalem), settlers and Israeli forces forced farmers to leave their olive groves despite “prior coordination,” with farmers reporting that settlers had stolen olives from 30 trees. In Deir Ammar (Ramallah), access was limited to 3 days for. 15 farmers aged over 40; an 82-year-old farmer was assaulted while harvesting with permission.
· In Jamma’in and Qabalan (Nablus), settlers assaulted farmers harvesting in Area B, including 2 over 70 years old. In Al-Lubban Al Sharquiya, soldiers used stun grenades to force over 30 olive harvesters off their land.
· In Kafr Malik (Ramallah), settlers and Israeli military attacked farmers, injuring a person providing protective presence and forcing farmers to leave. Between Al Masu’diya and Burqa (Nablus), settlers assaulted a farmer and stole 6 bags of olives.
· Israeli settlers attacked U.S. journalist Jasper Nathaniel and two Russian activists in the Palestinian village of Umm Al-Khair in Masafer Yatta, in the occupied West Bank, before Israeli authorities arrested two of the victims. (Drop Site 10/29)
· Around 30 Israeli settlers, some of whom were armed, took over eight homes in Ein Al-Duyuk Al-Tahta on the outskirts of Jericho in the occupied West Bank. Sixty-five Palestinian residents fled after settlers attacked them with stones. The new outpost is reportedly located in Area C, under full Israeli control under the Oslo Accords, just meters from parts of Jericho classified as Area A, where the Palestinian Authority is supposed to exercise civilian and security control. Yisrael Gantz, head of the West Bank settler council, framed the move as an effort to dismantle the Oslo Accords, through actions, house by house, family by family.” (Palestine Chronicle 11/5)
Prisoners
· Bushra Al-Tawil, Palestinian journalist from Al-Bireh, has lost 16 kilos since her 2/5 arrest amid severe food shortages, medical neglect, and prolonged solitary confinement—she has been held in isolation since 8/17 at Israel’s Ohalei Oz prison. Her isolation was extended for another month on 11/2. She is suffering from skin lesions caused by scabies, as well as painful tendon inflammation in her hands and feet. Israeli prison authorities have ignored repeated requests for medical treatment.
· Israeli authorities released Dr. Mazen Al-Rantisi, 71, from Ganot prison after more than four months in detention, with visible signs of physical assault, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society. Al-Rantisi, widely known in the occupied West Bank as the “doctor of the poor,” was arrested during a predawn raid on his Ramallah home on 6/21, without his family being informed of the reason. Israeli media reports suggested his detention was linked to his role as chair of the Union of Health Work Committees, a Palestinian healthcare organization Israel designated an “unlawful association” in 2020. · Israeli immigration authorities revoked newly elected U.S. Congress member Brad Lander’s permission to enter Israel, a day after he and dozens of American rabbis and other US Jewish leaders were detained in the West Bank while helping a Palestinian family harvest olives. Authorities later revoked the entry permits of dozens of the American rabbis and other Jewish leaders detained alongside Lander. “It’s an effort to discourage people from coming and participating in the olive harvest. That is one small step in this much larger infrastructure of occupation and ethnic cleansing.” (Jewish Currents 10/27)
